Every Asus user knows Asus launch Latest firmware for Zenfone's. In this Tutorial We are showing How To Update Zenfone 5 in Lollipop 5.0 using the OTA file. Pre-Requirment
  • Android Lollipop OTA file
  • Device Running at 60% Battery
  • Make Sure you have updated to KK v2.22.40.53 firmware
  • Backup all your personal Data

How To Update Zenfone 5 in Lollipop

Step 1. Download Lollipop OTA file from Below Link.

Step 2. Copy the zip file in your Phone Internal Store, Then unplug the USB wire and restart the device.

Step 3. After restart you will get system update notification in the notification bar Tap on it and Ok button.

It can take more than 15 minutes to install the file. Once your Device Successfully Install the firmware Open the Settings, then about it must be shown Android Version 5.0 Congratulations, you have Android Lollipop in your Zenfone. Share it with your friends and family members.

    HI there, I have tried downloading from my mobile device 3.23.40.58 but after I paste in on the root of my phone drive and restarted several times the OTA for updating is not showing up..can you tell me what I should do?

    I downloaded the file from ASUS website to upgrade to lollipop as mentioned in your video. But even after transferring to internal storage and restarting, the update did not show up. I then realised that I had extracted the files which I then deleted and restarted the device again but the problem persists. What to do now?

    I got the notification even without rebooting (but I still rebooted though) but when I clicked it, it went to upgrading for a bit and then it rebooted. and I'm still on kitkat. I unrooted before transferring the file to internal storage. what's interesting is that when it rebooted is rooted again. any solution?

    I downloaded the above link : ZenFone 5 (A501CG)-UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-3.23.40.52-user.zip . I moved it to the outside of internal memory. After that I restarts my mobile but no notification about system update was shown. Please send me the original file for me or please kept the original file link of your Google drive.

      Hi Edjen, you will need to downgrade your firmware to 2.20.40.53 for a smooth transition to Android L . Downgrade the v2.50.40.53 from asus website, then using adb sideload downgrade it (Technoplanner has a video for this too) , once you are down to v. 53 , let the phone restart... Wait for few minutes or an hour if you can.. .. Then using the same method of adb sideload upgrade your phone to Android L. You can't upgrade to Android L v. 60 directly, upgrade to lower ( v. 52) first then you can directly upgrade to latest version from. Setting menu... Long procedure but worth it :) . If any queries feel free to reply. I'll help you with that

      Download the firmware for your SKU from asus website, then flashboot(adb sideload ) your mobile and install this firmware

    My asus zenfone 5 does not connect/sync with my pc via usb cable , my lapotp only charges my phone but refuses to sync data... any idea how to fix it???
